![]() ![]() How's your runout? This ties into proper speeds and feeds. Carbide doesn't like vibration, HSS is tougher and stands up to this more. I can't see it, you haven't described it, but I know it isn't rigid. Heat is bad for your cutter (well, to a degree.some coatings need some heat. Running at the proper speed keeps the heat down. It's cheaper, and you'll be running at the proper speeds. Is this carbide or HSS? If it's carbide, and you aren't able to spin it up to the proper speeding (in excess of 10k depending on what you're cutting), consider going to HSS. Start on the low end maybe, since you probably don't have the juice to run that endmill at a very high speed anyway If you can't find it, look up something like widia, kennametal, whatever, and cut it by maybe ~20%. ![]() Using the proper speeds and feeds?
